Job Summary

We are seeking a Health and Safety Resource Facilitator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with license-exempt child care providers to support their important work in providing care for children. Your role will involve conducting home visits, identifying needs and goals, and connecting providers with programs and resources that promote early learning and quality child care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct resource and engagement visits with license-exempt providers to encourage participation in IAFC programs and trainings.
  2. Build relationships with providers and understand their needs and goals for developing child care in their homes.
  3. Act as a resource and ambassador for IAFC, promoting our programs and services to providers and the community.
  4. Conduct literacy visits with providers, engaging children in pre-reading activities and providing books and materials for use in their child care settings.
  5. Provide support and guidance to providers on DCFS licensing procedures.
  6. Facilitate provider peer learning groups and trainings, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing among providers.
  7. Participate in outreach activities to promote IAFC's programs and services to the community.
  8. Document visit results, phone calls, and meetings with providers, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to IAFC's standards.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, promoting collaboration and mutual support.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's degree or 60 college credit hours in early childhood education or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in child care, with a focus on working with license-exempt providers.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable personal transportation, and insurance.
  • Spanish bilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with providers and the community.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively and respond to questions.
  • Ability to work independently, with a flexible schedule, and travel locally and statewide.
