Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club, a prestigious private member-owned establishment, is seeking a Seasonal Assistant Golf Professional. This role is integral to the management and execution of the club's golf program, requiring a professional demeanor and a friendly approach.


About Orchid Island Golf Course

Renowned for its exceptional design by Arnold Palmer, the golf course is crafted to provide enjoyment for players of all skill levels. The layout features a variety of tee combinations, ensuring a flexible playing experience with distances ranging from 4,321 to 7,126 yards. With sculpted bunkers and water-guarded greens, it is celebrated as one of the finest golf courses in the region.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for the sport of golf.
  • Assist in managing the Golf Pro Shop inventory control system.
  • Provide members with clear guidance on golf policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Conduct engaging golf clinics and maintain accurate handicap records.
  • Oversee the Pro Shop in the absence of the Golf Pro Shop Manager.
  • Manage Pro Shop inventory and perform regular counts of merchandise.
  • Document and maintain records of all club repair work.
  • Coordinate tournaments and special events, ensuring proper entry of winners.
  • Assist in scheduling lessons and provide golf instruction as needed.
  • Ensure the golf course is properly marked and maintained.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of standard golf course operations and procedures.
  • Familiarity with tournament setup and billing processes.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and be a member of the PGA or PGA Apprentice.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Physical stamina to meet the demands of the role, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
