We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lactation Consultant to join our team at Trinity Health Ann Arbor. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in supporting mothers and babies to breastfeed successfully.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert lactation support and education to patients, including those experiencing complex lactation problems.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care for breastfeeding families, actively involving them in the planning process.
- Collaborate with the Breastfeeding Advisory Board to develop and revise patient education materials for breastfeeding.
- Identify patient and family education needs, and provide additional resources as needed to ensure readiness for discharge.
- Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing and current Michigan Nursing License.
- International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification is required.
- Must complete all mandatory in-services and follow IBCLE guidelines for continuing education to maintain IBCLC certification.
