Job Summary

This position will work within the UEM Distribution Team to maintain and operate underground utility infrastructure, including steam and condensate return, chilled water, domestic water, natural gas, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the integrity of underground or distribution-related utility systems.
  • Safely operate valves to isolate or restore utility service to sections of campus.
  • Troubleshoot flow or supply issues.
  • Execute KY811 underground utility locate marking.
  • Support capital construction projects.
  • Facilitate third-party utility vendor work on campus.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities and repairs on utility piping and systems.
  • Respond to emergency situations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of related experience.
  • No license or registration required.
Working Conditions

Standing or walking with objects up to 50lbs; Repetitive motion. May be exposed to loud noises, fumes, confined spaces, and/or temperature extremes.

Shift and Schedule

Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:15 pm. Hours of work may vary dependent upon situational factors and crisis management, requiring some night(s), weekend(s), and/or holiday(s) response.
