Job Title: Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Lafayette. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Facilities Director in maintaining the overall upkeep of the community, including minor repairs and maintenance projects.
  • Conduct daily inspections of furniture and equipment, and schedule cleanings with vendors as needed.
  • Perform minor repairs, such as replacing faucet washers and spindles, and tightening loose hinges or door mechanisms.
  • Act as a liaison between the Facilities Director, Executive Director, and external vendors.
  • Responsible for touch-up paint jobs, furniture refinishing, and furniture moving.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Steam clean or shampoo carpet, and make adjustments to heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
  • Gather and empty trash, and remove debris from outdoor porches, parking lot, and dumpster area.
  • Replace light bulbs throughout the community, and notify the supervisor of the need for major repairs or additions to the building operating systems.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One year of job-related experience.
  • Understanding of infection control procedures.
  • Ability to multitask and manage stress.
  • Written and verbal skills for effective communication.
  • Tact and a helpful attitude are necessary for a customer-service oriented environment.
