Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Hire Resolve's client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform whole building energy modeling to support life-cycle analysis and inform system decisions early in the design process.
  • Direct junior engineers and track performance and utilization.
  • Design and develop mechanical building systems and infrastructure for large public and private developments.
  • Review and understand LEED requirements and ensure they are incorporated into the design and construction.
  • Review technical aspects of major design, construction, renovation, and alterations.
  • Lead MEP-related projects and develop scope, budget, and schedules.
  • Assist with recruitment of new engineers, architects, and other team members.
  • Manage design team performance on assigned projects.
  • Develop and execute project win strategies.
  • Ensure quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.
  • Prepare and follow comprehensive project framework instructions and proper work planning.
  • Review project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget.
  • Proactively work with project managers to resolve issues that impact project performance.

Requirements:

  • Licensed PE, registration in licenses in Virginia, the District of Columbia, or Maryland is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years' of related experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • LEED AP, CEM credentials and experience with UFC design criteria are preferred.
  • Healthcare design, municipal facilities, and higher education experience is a plus.
  • Experience with high-performance sustainable systems design and integrated building systems approach.
  • Experience with central utility plants, variable-primary flow systems, ground source systems, fan-wall systems, chilled beam systems, and energy-recovery systems.
  • Ability to obtain Federal Security Clearance.
  • Experience with plumbing and process piping design experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of building and building system codes (IBC, IECC, IFGC, IMC, IPC, ASHRAE standards and NFPA standards).
  • Proficient in Revit, building load and energy modeling software, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Unified facilities guide specifications is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Record holder for licensure in other states preferred but not required.
