Responsibilities- Prepare dialysis machines and treatment supplies to ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform hemodialysis treatments according to facility policies and procedures.
- Provide ongoing patient education, training, and health coaching to promote optimal care.
- Monitor patients during dialysis, assessing and communicating changes with physicians and families.
- Administer and chart all prescribed medications.
- Follow CDC/CMS infection control regulations to ensure a safe environment.
- Participate in patient care conferences, rounds, and chart reviews to ensure continuity of care.
- Document required patient education efforts to maintain accurate records.
- Facilitate continuity of care with local hospitals to ensure seamless transitions.
- Assist in medication inventory maintenance to ensure timely replenishment.
- Lead a small patient care team to promote collaboration and effective communication.
- Contribute to onboarding new staff members as directed to ensure a smooth transition.
- Accredited nursing degree required.
- Dialysis experience not required, but job shadow opportunities are available for new graduates.
- DCI provides comprehensive training, including classroom group sessions and one-on-one skills training, to ensure success in this role.
- Paid 12-week training with a preceptor to ensure a smooth transition.
