Job Summary

Bronson Healthcare is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team. As a Pharmacy Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced pharmacists and technicians to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform technical tasks similar to those performed by Unit Dose Technicians and IV Admixture Technicians
  • Screen physician orders, enter orders into the computer system, and complete complex tasks in the IV Room under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Work closely with nurses and physicians to ensure accurate and timely medication administration
  • Assist with medication inventory management and ordering
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and enrollment in an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Pharmacy Intern license in good standing with the State of Michigan
  • Familiarity with computers, pharmaceutical math skills, and communication skills for dealing with co-workers, nurses, and physicians

Working Conditions

  • Work which is constantly and exceptionally tiring mentally and/or visually
  • Regularly lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (i.e., up to 50 pounds)
