Job Summary:

Wagner Equipment Co. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of heavy equipment and components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with heavy equipment and components
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in good working condition
  • Communicate effectively with service writers, shop coordinators, and shop managers to ensure problems are understood and followed up on
  • Order replacement parts and ensure they are correct and complete at the time of order
  • Service and maintain equipment sold and/or owned by the company
  • Test, measure, and adjust engine and machine systems and components
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot machine and engine malfunctions and failures
  • Analyze customer repair and maintenance requirements
  • Keep up to date with developments in tooling, technologies, and systems
  • Use safe working practices and follow all company safety requirements

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earthmoving repair preferred
  • 4 years' experience in heavy equipment, engine, or electric power generation system repair
  • 1-3 years administrative/clerical experience
  • 3-5 years customer service experience

Work Environment:

The Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
