Job Summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our team in Toledo, Ohio. As a Paramedic, you will provide direct patient care under the guidance of the medical director or online medical control, adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the organization's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic patient care and tasks, including vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene, and assists with mobility, ECGs, basic wound care, and other unit-based specialty duties under the direction of the medical director or online medical control.
  • Administer medication in a safe manner consistent with state and medical director guidelines for medication administration.
  • Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and concerns.
  • Provide high-level customer service to all patients, patient's families, community providers, visitors, and employees.
  • Provide accurate, precise, timely documentation as applicable to patient care.
  • Participate in handoff report of pertinent information regarding patient and departmental needs upon arrival and when leaving.
  • Perform delegated tasks once competency has been validated.
  • Collect data, within scope.
  • Complete patient screenings as applicable.
  • Promote quality and safety by seeking to continually improve the processes and systems to enhance patient care delivery.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, problem solve, and be able to resolve conflict while working under considerable stress.
  • Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
  • ACLS – AHA (Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association) (required)
  • PALS – AHA (Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association) (required)
  • Current paramedic-level certification (required)
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Successful completion of a Paramedic program at the certificate or associates degree level (required)
  • 1 Year Paramedic (required)
  • 2-3 Year Paramedic experience (preferred)
