Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the scheduling, planning, and execution of cleaning operations within the stewarding department.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Assisting the Assistant Executive Steward in developing the weekly work schedule.
  • Ensuring cleanliness throughout the food and beverage back-of-house areas.
  • Coordinating special cleaning schedules for specific tasks such as hallways, kitchen equipment, and waste management.
  • Completing weekly chemical requisitions to maintain operational standards.
  • Making recommendations for disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Training new staff members.
  • Supporting safety training initiatives.
  • Assisting with banquet setups and functions.
  • Participating in performance evaluations.
  • Promptly reporting any significant issues to immediate supervisors.
  • Exhibiting a polite and helpful demeanor towards guests and colleagues.
  • Attending all relevant meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and optimal condition of all equipment and work areas.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned.
  • Executing emergency procedures as per hotel standards.
  • Adhering to safety regulations and property policies.
  • Practicing recycling whenever feasible.
  • Staying informed about company updates and changes.
  • Complying with uniform and grooming standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • An Associate's degree is preferred, along with one to two years of supervisory experience in stewarding or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in food service management, preferably in kitchen operations.
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and dishwashing equipment is essential.
  • Attention to detail and high cleanliness standards are mandatory.
  • Effective communication skills with guests and team members are required.

Work Environment:

  • Responsibilities are primarily performed in the back-of-house areas, which can be fast-paced and noisy. There may be occasions where you will need to access the casino floor, exposing you to various environmental factors.
  • While executing job duties, employees are frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities necessary for this role include close, distance, and peripheral vision.

Native American Preference Policy:

Preference in hiring practices is given to Native Americans, with first preference to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet job qualifications, followed by members of other federally recognized tribes.
