Job Summary

AMIkids Tampa, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Behavioral Interventionist to join our team. As a Behavioral Interventionist, you will play a critical role in providing guidance and support to youth in our care, helping them develop essential life skills and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all youth in our care, adhering to operational policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and mentor youth, providing positive role modeling and guidance to help them develop social, self-help, academic, and living skills.
  • Prevent and intervene in youth altercations and incidents, utilizing authorized training methods.
  • Effectively utilize the Behavior Modification System to provide redirection and coaching to youth.
  • Coach and advise youth on personal responsibility, social skills, community living skills, interpersonal communications, and behavior.
  • May provide one-on-one tutoring and computer lab assistance as needed.
  • Notify management immediately of problems or incidents.
  • Communicate necessary information to team members and supervisors.
  • Complete incident, accident, and behavioral reports according to standard operating procedures.
  • Document and review required notes in applicable logs.
  • Ensure facility, equipment, and supplies are compliant with laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Teach youth how to maintain equipment within compliance standards.
  • Maintain the repair and maintenance log and inventory of related equipment.
  • Administer first aid and CPR during emergencies, adhering to national standards.
  • May be required to supervise day and/or overnight trips, special activities, and extended workdays.
  • Drive program vehicles as required, adhering to AMIkids transportation guidelines.
  • Transport youth and drive for other work-related tasks.
  • Position requires regular driving.
  • Attend required training and professional development events, maintaining certifications and licenses.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
