Key Responsibilities

The Program Operations Supervisor will oversee the overall operational functions, ensuring effective management of labor, productivity, quality assurance, and safety protocols established for the Office of Paid Family Leave.

Key duties include:

  • Providing comprehensive technical and administrative oversight for management and staff within the Paid Family Leave program.
  • Assigning and reviewing office workloads, determining scheduling priorities, and ensuring timely service delivery to meet program objectives.
  • Reviewing and interpreting Federal and Local grant funding allocations, preparing and submitting written grants for specific initiatives.
  • Designing, drafting, evaluating, and modifying policies to ensure program effectiveness and compliance with legal standards.
  • Analyzing policies, regulations, and legislation to develop new program strategies and revising existing policies as necessary.
  • Interpreting study results, preparing detailed reports with findings and recommendations, and identifying areas needing additional resources.
  • Facilitating communication by preparing and distributing information to inform management and staff about program policies and procedures.
  • Establishing performance standards and ensuring staff awareness of their responsibilities.
  • Providing guidance and management to program staff through consultation and supervision.
  • Identifying training needs and counseling staff on work performance and relationships.
  • Developing criteria for evaluating system performance and program effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with the Associate Director to assess the effectiveness of the Office of Paid Family Leave and its programs.
  • Representing the department in various internal and external meetings, conferences, and workshops.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the MS13 grade level, directly related to the position. This experience should include knowledge of District laws, regulations, and procedures governing Paid Family Leave programs, as well as budget management and personnel evaluation processes.

A degree from an accredited four-year institution is preferred. Candidates should have a working knowledge of relevant guidelines, including the Universal Paid Leave Amendment Act and the D.C. Family and Medical Leave Act, along with strong communication skills and familiarity with Paid Family Leave Tax and Benefit Administration systems.

Work Environment

This position is typically performed in a standard office environment.
