INFORMATION SECURITY ANALYST

Position Overview:
The Information Security Analyst plays a crucial role in proactively identifying and mitigating security threats that could impact the operations, personnel, clients, and partners of the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA). Reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology Services, this position is tasked with developing a robust data protection strategy for the organization’s systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identifies and resolves potential and actual security issues to safeguard information system assets.
  • Establishes access controls, configurations, and security protocols to protect the Authority's resources.
  • Implements and maintains the Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan to detect and respond to security events effectively.
  • Participates in investigations as part of the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team, ensuring accurate documentation of incidents and actions taken.
  • Enhances security measures by assessing current vulnerabilities and anticipating future needs.
  • Conducts regular audits to identify security breaches and inefficiencies.
  • Collaborates with vendor support for contract management and escalations as necessary.
  • Ensures that security monitoring solutions are effectively tracking and reporting security incidents.
  • Develops custom scripts to streamline logging and alerting processes.
  • Assists in selecting and configuring information security solutions, including intrusion detection systems.
  • Stays updated on industry trends and best practices through continuous education and professional networking.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Experience in information security, particularly in areas such as penetration testing and incident response.
  • In-depth knowledge of network security threats and effective detection methods.
  • Strong understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP and common security protocols.
  • Proficient in vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; significant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Two to five years of relevant experience in Cyber Security is preferred.

Certifications:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or CompTIA Security+ are preferred.

Additional Requirements:
  • Subject to background checks and pre-employment assessments.
  • Availability for on-call duties as required for cybersecurity incidents.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for the role.
