About the Role

The Council On Aging seeks a highly skilled and empathetic Senior Adult Support Coordinator to join its team. As a Resident Rights Specialist - Field Ombudsman, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving complaints made by or on behalf of residents in nursing and residential care homes. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that resident rights and quality of life are maintained or improved through effective advocacy and mediation.

This rewarding role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. You will work closely with Long Term Care Ombudsman Coordinator/ Director and have frequent interactions with nursing and board & care personnel. Your ability to maintain professional objective relationships while ensuring resident advocacy is never compromised is essential.

To succeed in this position, you should have a Certified State Long-Term Care Ombudsman certification or be able to complete the 36-hour training program. You will also need to adhere to COASC dress code standards, represent the program and COASC with a professional image, and consistently use authorized communication systems to ensure confidentiality and professional practices.
