Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Event Planning Manager to lead institutional and public events at our campus. The successful candidate will provide support and counsel to customers and patrons, while ensuring the smooth execution of events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead event planning and execution from conception to completion
  • Provide support and counsel to customers and patrons
  • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, scheduling, and coordination with service providers
  • Coordinate with university providers, such as Facilities Management, FIU Police, Parking, etc.
  • On-board, train, and manage student staff in the Guest Services unit
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients to identify their needs and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Support and participate in the design of activities and special events within the facilities
  • Conduct tours of the facilities for clients, staff, and students
  • Serve on university-wide planning committees, as assigned
  • Handle cash, check, credit card, and other monetary transactions
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with university, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience; OR six (6) years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
  • Experience in event planning (from conception to execution)
