Position Overview

The Pet Grooming Salon Supervisor is tasked with steering the daily functions of the grooming salon, meeting established objectives, and propelling business growth. This role encompasses managing salon operations, mentoring and training personnel, and delivering outstanding service to pet owners and their pets.

Key Responsibilities

As a Salon Supervisor, it is crucial to be available, adaptable, and customer-focused, fulfilling the following responsibilities:

• Ensure consistent and reliable attendance.
• Work scheduled hours, including flexibility for varied shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Support sales initiatives by:
  • Expressing gratitude to customers
  • Engaging with customers and their pets
  • Recommending products or services
  • Creating memorable experiences
• Perform a range of duties daily, including:
  • Overseeing daily salon operations, including scheduling and safety protocols
  • Assisting in the recruitment and onboarding of new groomers and technicians, ensuring all training is completed timely
  • Collaborating with management to communicate salon updates and manage business strategies
  • Fostering salon growth through customer outreach, appointment scheduling, and community engagement
  • Leading team members through professional development and performance evaluations
  • Providing grooming services with expertise in canine grooming techniques
  • Ensuring safe handling of pets
  • Maintaining professionalism
  • Managing grooming equipment and its upkeep
  • Monitoring the health and safety of animals
  • Inspecting pets for health issues and communicating findings to owners
  • Adhering to safety and sanitation standards
  • Maintaining grooming tools and equipment to prevent injury and disease transmission

Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of 2 years in the grooming field, demonstrating knowledge and skills under a professional groomer’s guidance. Supervisory experience is preferred. Comfort with both dogs and cats is essential, along with a compassionate approach to animal care. Personal grooming tools are required.

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory. A combination of education and experience will be considered. All associates must possess the ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic accurately.

• Work shifts vary but typically last a minimum of 4 hours, with potential for longer shifts.

Physical Requirements

• This is a physically active position.
• Ability to move quickly and safely throughout the salon and outdoor areas.
• Proficiency in operating all relevant equipment safely and accurately.
• Capability to lift and transfer animals and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods while grooming.
• Frequent movement around the salon for grooming and cleaning tasks.
• Proficient use of grooming instruments.
• Ability to occasionally lift or reach overhead.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, and squatting for grooming and cleaning tasks.
• Ability to operate store equipment such as computers and cash registers.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately for documentation.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
• Successful completion of all required training.
