Overview:
The AI-Enhanced Tables division is dedicated to the automatic and intelligent arrangement of customer tables to achieve optimal price-performance and user-friendliness. By scrutinizing customer usage patterns, we pinpoint the most critical tables. Consequently, essential business data is strategically colocated, indexed, and cached for maximum efficiency, while less frequently accessed data is archived and compressed to save costs. Importantly, all of this is executed within an open data lakehouse utilizing an open table format, avoiding proprietary storage limitations.
Strategic Importance:
This initiative is vital to the success of Databricks. When executed effectively, it will revolutionize the data and AI landscape, addressing the common challenges customers face with complex configurations. Databricks is uniquely equipped to fulfill this vision, managing exabytes of data across over 10,000 clients.
Your Role:
As the Product Manager for this team, you will oversee the entire suite of our AI-enhanced table products, which includes Predictive I/O, Predictive Optimization, Liquid Clustering, and our forward-looking roadmap. You will be responsible for their success from inception to completion. Engaging with key customers, you will identify areas where they spend significant time configuring and fine-tuning their tables. You will establish a vision for leveraging AI to eliminate these burdens and collaborate closely with engineering to bring these capabilities to fruition. Additionally, you will identify and resolve obstacles that hinder adoption and work with marketing and our field teams to promote these offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape the vision for AI-enhanced tables, ensuring that customer data is both efficient and user-friendly from the outset.
- Conduct in-depth customer research and data analysis to uncover significant AI optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with customers to gain insights into their data management challenges and requirements.
- Drive the adoption of AI-enhanced offerings by defining and pursuing OKRs, addressing barriers to adoption, and refining capabilities to enhance their appeal.
- Work alongside engineering to define and deliver the next generation of AI-enhanced products.
- Lead product launches in collaboration with field and product marketing through various channels such as blog posts, release notes, webinars, and internal training.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management or related fields, particularly with enterprise or SaaS products.
- Proven track record of launching new products and driving their adoption.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Empathy for developers, having experience with developer-facing products or similar.
- Strong skills in data analysis and operationalization (proficient in SQL & Python, creating operational dashboards).

Compensation Transparency:
Zone 1 Pay Range: $115,400 — $204,200 USD
