Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $150,000 per year.

Job Overview

This role involves coordinating all site construction activities, ensuring the highest quality, supervising trade and field personnel, and maintaining good construction safety practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for successfully completing the project on schedule and within budget.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development, updating, modification, and maintenance of the project schedule, including master schedules, 60-day look ahead schedules, and two-week look ahead schedules.
  • Implement and maintain corporate safety program requirements in day-to-day operations on the project.
  • Coordinate with the project superintendent to prepare contract item lists and shop drawing schedules, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
  • Attend weekly meetings with foremen and superintendents to discuss project progress and address any issues.
  • Prepare daily construction reports in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Establish and maintain risk controls to ensure proper establishment and maintenance.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the project team to update on the status of fieldwork and communicate any issues requiring input or action from others on the project team.
  • Maintain a system of document control to ensure work is installed according to the latest design documentation and approved shop drawings.
  • Communicate any issues requiring additional information from designers to the project manager for issuance of RFIs.
  • Assist in preparing monthly status reports to be submitted to the client.
  • Ensure required permits and approvals from jurisdictional agencies are secured, posted, and renewed as required prior to starting work.
  • Work in partnership with the project manager to identify and address issues of constructability or lack of scope during the pre-construction phase.
  • Participate in the development and final review of scope, buy-out, and schedule.
  • Research, review, and address owner, landlord, city/state requirements or procedures to avoid project delays, ensure safety, and/or ensure client satisfaction.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of project strategy and commitments, including financial goals, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, and inspections.
  • Oversee daily field operations to ensure proper site safety, construction, progress, quality control, and a clean site.
  • Work in partnership with the project manager to maintain an updated and accurate project schedule that reflects changes in project status and meets cost and time requirements.
  • Promote positive subcontractor relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors, instilling this philosophy in the project team at all times.
  • Maintain and review the punch list process to ensure all items are addressed and executed in a timely manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience working on core/shell projects.
  • Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements/jurisdiction, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering drawings, and other required documents.
  • New York City Buildings Construction Superintendent License.
  • 10-Hour OSHA and 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health Certificate.
  • 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User Certificate.
