Radiation Oncology Therapist

At UNC Health Care, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of radiation oncology. As a Radiation Therapist, you'll play a vital role in our team's mission to improve the health and well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer radiation therapy treatments to oncology patients, ensuring accurate calculations and documentation.
- Work closely with radiation therapy supervisors and physicians to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Enter data into computer systems and adjust equipment settings to regulate dosage and ensure patient safety.
- Maintain accurate patient and billing records, adhering to department policies and procedures.
- Perform routine and complex radiation therapy treatments, including total body irradiation and stereotactic radiosurgery.
- Prepare equipment and rooms for patient treatments, using protective equipment and procedures to ensure safety.
- Provide on-the-job clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists.
- Graduation from a Radiation Therapy Technologist program approved by the Council of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA).
- Radiation Therapy certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Board Eligible (must receive certification within one year of hire).
