As a Radiation Therapist at UNC Health Care, you will play a critical role in administering radiation therapy treatments to oncology patients. This position requires a high level of technical skill and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Administer radiation therapy treatments in accordance with physician instructions and patient treatment plans.
- Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, and clinical physicists in preparing physical and technical aspects of radiation treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate patient and billing records, reports, and files.
- Perform routine and complex radiation therapy treatments, including total body irradiation and stereotactic radiosurgery.
- Provide on-the-job clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists.
- Graduation from a Radiation Therapy Technologist program approved by the Council of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA).
- Radiation Therapy certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Board Eligible (must receive certification within one year of hire).
