About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform adult/neonatal EEG studies under the direction of a physician
  • Explain the test procedure to patients, apply recording, monitoring, and stimulating electrodes, and recognize and eliminate artifact
  • Calibrate equipment, troubleshoot, and correct malfunctions
  • Select appropriate amplifier settings and obtain quality data
  • Provide technical descriptions of EEG studies and communicate urgent findings with Epilepsy physicians
  • Review EEG files, save sections for physician review, and educate ICU nurses and other hospital personnel on basic equipment functioning and electrode removal techniques
  • Schedule appointments, maintain communication across inpatient units, and ensure billing accuracy
  • Participate in teaching conferences, technical meetings, and maintain CEUs/Credentials
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG T.) preferred
  • Must achieve registry in EEG within 2 years of hire
  • High School Diploma/GED and Graduate of an accredited EEG school program or 3+ years of prior EEG work experience
