We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Assembly Technician to join our team at Pro Mach. As an Electrical Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the assembly, repair, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble electrical and mechanical components and subassemblies using common hand and power tools.
- Perform electrical wiring assembly utilizing standard electrical tools, including soldering irons, crimpers, and strippers.
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and detailed work instructions.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls issues, including PLCs, HMIs, and parameters.
- Test equipment for performance to specifications and for reliability.
- Optimize set-up and changeover of mechanical and controls systems.
- Document set-up and changeover procedures.
- Train customers and field service technicians on troubleshooting and set-up procedures.
- Install, demonstrate, maintain, and repair marking, coding, and labeling equipment.
- Develop reports in accordance with company reporting mechanisms.
- Provide first-line technical support via phone and email for all customers.
- Attend trainings and meetings as required by leadership.
- Stay current on trends from both market and technical standpoints.
- Serve as a technical resource to Regional Service Technicians on Oakland machinery.
- High school diploma.
- Technical degree or training preferred.
- 3 or more years of experience in the assembly, repair, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical equipment.
- Ability to perform mechanical assembly of machinery and subassemblies using common hand and power tools.
- Ability to perform electrical wiring assembly utilizing standard electrical tools.
- Ability to read assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and detailed work instructions.
- Ability to read and understand English.
- Ability to identify customer needs and match their solution with company products and services.
- Ability to positively interact with customers and colleagues in stressful situations.
- Knowledge of industry and applications.
- Obtain and maintain PMMI certification.
- Computer literacy, especially with MS Office.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Some locations may require bi-lingual skills.
- Must have own, dependable vehicle and good driving record.
- Must provide own tools.
- Associates or better in Electronics Engineering Technology.
- Technical/other training or better.
