Job Title: Endoscopy Technician at Saint Anne's Hospital
Position Overview: In the capacity of an endoscopy technician, you will play a crucial role in patient care within the endoscopy department. Working under the supervision of the registered nurse, your responsibilities will include assisting physicians during endoscopic procedures and ensuring the proper maintenance of endoscopy instruments. Additionally, you will be tasked with managing inventory and optimizing the workflow of the endoscopy unit.
Core Responsibilities:
- Exhibit respect and consideration for all patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
- Assist medical professionals during endoscopic examinations.
- Conduct thorough cleaning and high-level disinfection of endoscopic devices.
- Process surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines.
- Maintain and update Instructions for Use (IFUs) for endoscopic apparatus.
- Manage specimens, documentation, and sterilization records.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Capability to assist physicians effectively during endoscopic procedures.
- Understanding of aseptic techniques, infection prevention, and equipment processing.
- Familiarity with Spaulding Classification, Universal Protocol, and ASGE Guidelines.
- Ability to prioritize equipment requirements and operate efficiently in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a surgical technologist program is preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years in a relevant role.
- Certification/Licensure: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Meditech software.
