Position Overview: The Dining Services Team at Givens Estates is seeking a full-time Culinary Production Specialist for our dining venue and production kitchen. Our team is passionate about utilizing fresh, local, and sustainable ingredients to deliver high-quality meals to our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and plate a diverse range of dishes following standardized recipes and menu guidelines, ensuring consistency in flavor and presentation.
  • Collaborate with the executive sous chef to review menus, recipes, and prep lists to determine the types and quantities of menu items to be prepared.
  • Safely and efficiently operate and maintain kitchen equipment and appliances, reporting any malfunctions to management.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely service, maintaining effective communication during meal preparation and service.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation practices and food handling procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of proper cooking methods and temperatures to optimize yield of meats and other foods.
  • Ability to time the cooking of vegetables to preserve their nutritional quality, flavor, and appearance.
  • Capability to accurately estimate food quantities needed and yields from bulk foods.
  • Understanding of sanitation and safety principles in food handling and equipment usage.

Compensation for this role is $21.00 per hour, complemented by our comprehensive benefits package. Givens Communities is a senior housing organization committed to providing housing for seniors from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
