Position Overview: The Dining Services Team at Givens Estates, a recognized nonprofit life plan community, is seeking a full-time Culinary Production Specialist for our dining venue and production kitchen. Our team is passionate about utilizing fresh, local, and sustainable ingredients to deliver high-quality meals to our residents. As a Culinary Production Specialist, you will have the chance to apply your culinary skills and knowledge in a way that significantly impacts the lives of our residents and fellow team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, cook, and plate a diverse range of dishes following standardized recipes and menu guidelines, ensuring consistency in flavor and presentation.
  • Collaborate with the executive sous chef to assess menus, recipes, and prep lists to determine the types and quantities of items to be prepared.
  • Safely and efficiently operate and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting any issues to management.
  • Work in tandem with kitchen staff to ensure timely service, maintaining effective communication during meal preparation and service.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including sanitation practices and food handling procedures.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of proper cooking methods and temperatures to optimize food yield.
  • Ability to time the cooking of vegetables to preserve their nutritional quality and appearance.
  • Skill in estimating food quantities needed and yields from bulk items.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety principles in food handling and equipment use.
Compensation: The hourly wage for this position is $21.00, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package.
