Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and plate a diverse range of dishes following standardized recipes and menu guidelines, ensuring consistency in flavor and presentation.
- Collaborate with the executive sous chef to assess menus, recipes, and prep lists to determine the types and quantities of items to be prepared.
- Safely and efficiently operate and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting any issues to management.
- Work in tandem with kitchen staff to ensure timely service, maintaining effective communication during meal preparation and service.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including sanitation practices and food handling procedures.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Understanding of proper cooking methods and temperatures to optimize food yield.
- Ability to time the cooking of vegetables to preserve their nutritional quality and appearance.
- Skill in estimating food quantities needed and yields from bulk items.
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety principles in food handling and equipment use.
