Job Summary:

The Sterile Processing Trainer is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating orientation, education, and training programs to meet the needs of sterile processing at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center - Neenah.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and delivers comprehensive training programs to ensure competency and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Supports the professional growth and development of team members in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinates educational in-services and training to ensure validation tracers are completed.
  • Ensures new hires are properly oriented and compliant with regulations.
  • Collaborates with team members, supervisors, and managers to discuss education, workflow, and quality initiatives.
  • Maintains educational documentation per hospital policy and regulatory standards.
  • Creates educational resource materials to ensure regulatory and manufacturer instruction for use adherence.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Three years of sterile processing experience.
  • Sterile Processing Certification (preferably HSPA).

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to move freely and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance.
  • Exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.

Work Environment:

  • Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments.
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
  • Occasional high noise level in work environment.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents.

Work Schedule:

32 hours per week, 0.8 FTE.
