Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Trainer is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating orientation, education, and training programs to meet the needs of sterile processing at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center - Neenah.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and delivers comprehensive training programs to ensure competency and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Supports the professional growth and development of team members in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory standards.
- Coordinates educational in-services and training to ensure validation tracers are completed.
- Ensures new hires are properly oriented and compliant with regulations.
- Collaborates with team members, supervisors, and managers to discuss education, workflow, and quality initiatives.
- Maintains educational documentation per hospital policy and regulatory standards.
- Creates educational resource materials to ensure regulatory and manufacturer instruction for use adherence.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Three years of sterile processing experience.
- Sterile Processing Certification (preferably HSPA).
Physical Demands:
- Ability to move freely and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance.
- Exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
Work Environment:
- Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
- Occasional high noise level in work environment.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents.
Work Schedule:
32 hours per week, 0.8 FTE.
