Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Forensic Nurse Examiner. In this critical role, you will be responsible for coordinating patient care activities, workflow, and navigation of forensic patients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical competence in the collection of forensic evidence, as well as the care, treatment, and referral of those impacted by interpersonal violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert testimony in a court of law
  • Lead efforts to create a safe and healing environment for patients and their families
  • Coordinate patient care activities, workflow, and navigation of forensic patients
  • Collect and analyze forensic evidence
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with Current IL RN license
  • BSN required
  • IL based nurses will be required to obtain a certificate of completion from the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) following the completion of the didactic training and clinical log prior to practicing independently
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in clinical nursing within an acute care setting
  • Current AHA CPR
  • Certification encouraged is the International Association of Forensic Nursing Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Adult/Adolescent (SANE-A) and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Pediatric (SANE-P) certifications
