Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Residential Energy Specialist to join our team at South Middlesex Opportunity Council. As a key member of our Energy Conservation Programs Division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our energy efficiency programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct home energy evaluations to identify energy-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to homeowners.
  • Evaluate the condition of vapor and thermal systems, including insulation and air flow, to ensure optimal energy efficiency.
  • Perform infrared scanning and blower door testing, as well as combustion safety protocols, to identify potential energy-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare work orders and cost estimates for energy efficiency upgrades and repairs.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure timely and effective completion of energy efficiency projects.
  • Provide education and outreach to homeowners on energy efficiency best practices and available resources.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless program implementation and delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as building science, engineering, or environmental science.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in energy efficiency program management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of building science principles, including air and heat flow, insulation, and energy efficiency best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
