Job Title: Optical Mounting Engineer

Company Overview: We are a leading company in the design and manufacturing of optical, electro-optic, laser, and imaging systems. We are seeking an experienced Optical Mounting Engineer to join our team.

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Optical Mounting Engineer to support R&D, new product development, and production while directly reporting to the R&D/Optics group. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will work on designing, building, and testing optical mounting structures, alignment mechanisms, and housings.

Your responsibilities will include working as a subject matter expert on optical mounting and alignment for consumer products, collaborating with Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Optical Engineers on joint design efforts, and specifying and performing shock/vibe and thermal simulations and testing.

In addition, you will support the design, modelling, and testing of stray light mitigation and perform reliability modelling such as thermal and shock simulation analyses.

You will have hands-on experience with optical alignment, metrology, and prototype builds, and be proficient with mechanical design using CAD (SolidWorks and PDM a plus).

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
