Position Summary:
The Director of IT will be instrumental in reshaping the technological framework at Gerber Childrenswear. Reporting to the COO, the successful candidate will possess strategic insight and a robust understanding of legacy systems, along with a proven history of managing extensive IT modernization projects. This role demands a leader capable of addressing immediate business needs while fostering a long-term vision for technological advancement, ensuring our IT infrastructure bolsters growth and enhances our competitive position in the apparel sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technology Transformation: Spearhead the evaluation, design, and execution of a holistic IT modernization plan that aligns with the company's strategic goals. Transition from outdated systems to contemporary, scalable solutions that meet current and future demands.
  • Process Enhancement: Identify and execute process improvements within the IT department and associated business areas, utilizing technology to boost efficiency, cut costs, and elevate overall productivity.
  • Leadership Development: Build, mentor, and guide a high-performing IT team, nurturing a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning. Ensure the team possesses the necessary skills and knowledge to facilitate the company's transformation.
  • Vendor Oversight: Manage relationships with technology providers, ensuring the company maximizes the value of tools and services while effectively controlling costs. Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance: Safeguard the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring it is secure, resilient, and adheres to industry regulations and standards. Implement strong cybersecurity protocols to protect company data and intellectual property.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Partner with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and product development, to understand their requirements and ensure IT systems align with business objectives. Effectively communicate IT strategies and initiatives to the executive team and other stakeholders.
  • Financial Management: Develop and oversee the IT budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to support both ongoing operations and strategic projects. Identify cost-saving opportunities through process enhancements and technology investments.
  • Innovation & Emerging Technologies: Stay informed about industry trends and new technologies that could benefit the company. Propose and implement innovative solutions that maintain the company's competitive advantage.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing large-scale IT transformations in manufacturing, retail, or apparel sectors.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. An MBA or advanced degree is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of legacy systems and experience transitioning to modern ERP, CRM, and other enterprise-level systems. Proficiency in cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data management.
  • Leadership Qualities: Proven capability to lead and motivate a team through significant change, with a focus on employee development and engagement.
  • Strategic Insight: Ability to align IT strategy with business goals and drive technological innovation that supports growth and operational efficiency.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience in overseeing large, complex projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management.
