Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support our Learning Science team at the Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will assist in various research projects, including data-driven interviewing, qualitative data coding and analysis, and literature reviews of data and research platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct data-driven interviewing, including preparation and analysis
  • Assist in running the IES-funded certificate program in learning analytics
  • Perform qualitative data coding and analysis
  • Conduct literature reviews of data and research platforms
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge and experience with large language models and digital learning platforms
  • Excellent analytic, writing, and communication skills
  • Administrative skills to support certificate program in learning analytics
  • Advanced professional skills
  • Experience in education and educational research, teaching, and learning, as well as collaborating with others
  • Self-starter, organized, driven, and open to learning new things in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in Education, learning analytics, or related field
  • Minimum of two years of applied research experience
  • Experience with online data management platforms
  • Experience leveraging large language models for qualitative coding
  • Experience in qualitative coding
  • Experience in interviewing
  • Familiarity with learning analytics or related methods
  • Familiarity with K-12 research settings
