Learning Science Research Assistant, Penn GSE

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support our Learning Science team at the Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will assist in various research projects, including data-driven interviewing, qualitative data coding and analysis, and literature reviews of data and research platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct data-driven interviewing, including preparation and analysis
- Assist in running the IES-funded certificate program in learning analytics
- Perform qualitative data coding and analysis
- Conduct literature reviews of data and research platforms
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge and experience with large language models and digital learning platforms
- Excellent analytic, writing, and communication skills
- Administrative skills to support certificate program in learning analytics
- Advanced professional skills
- Experience in education and educational research, teaching, and learning, as well as collaborating with others
- Self-starter, organized, driven, and open to learning new things in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Masters degree in Education, learning analytics, or related field
- Minimum of two years of applied research experience
- Experience with online data management platforms
- Experience leveraging large language models for qualitative coding
- Experience in qualitative coding
- Experience in interviewing
- Familiarity with learning analytics or related methods
- Familiarity with K-12 research settings
