About the Role

Ochsner Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Postoperative Care Specialist. In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to patients recovering from surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, providing individualized care and support to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.
  • Develop and implement effective care plans, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients and families on postoperative care, medication management, and wound care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure timely and effective communication, promoting a culture of safety and quality.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
Requirements
  • Current RN license in the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in clinical specialty area
  • Experience in postoperative care or surgical services
