Job Summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Postoperative Care Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to patients recovering from surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including medication management, wound care, and pain management.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, documenting patient information and progress in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams, fostering a culture of empathy and respect.
Requirements
  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in postoperative care or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in clinical specialty area.
  • Experience working with electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
