Key Responsibilities:
As a Parts Counter Associate, your primary duties will include:

  • Assisting customers, both retail and shop, in selecting necessary parts with a professional demeanor.
  • Informing customers about related part requirements and current promotions to ensure they are aware of our full product offerings.
  • Handling phone inquiries, providing accurate price quotes and information.
  • Reviewing estimates from body shops to confirm that ordered parts are correct and pricing matches.
  • Providing outstanding service to both internal and external clients.
  • Fulfilling orders from stock and notifying the parts manager of any out-of-stock items.
  • Locating parts from external sources and processing emergency orders when needed.
  • Communicating with service advisors and customers regarding the arrival of ordered parts.
  • Preparing orders for delivery to body shops, ensuring proper tagging with customer details.
  • Following up on back-ordered items and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Processing payments and ensuring all sales transactions are documented correctly.
  • Issuing credits for returned parts, verifying original invoices.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Participating in training programs to stay updated on new products.

Outside Sales Responsibilities:
In addition to counter duties, the role includes:

  • Visiting assigned customers and prospecting for new business opportunities.
  • Communicating parts orders to the counter team and advising on stock status.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction with delivery timelines for non-stock items.
  • Collaborating with the parts manager on special orders and pricing.
  • Updating customer records and maintaining mailing lists.
  • Participating in training seminars to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:
To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED; relevant experience is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
