Job Summary

We are seeking a Nurse Shift Manager to coordinate, supervise and implement patient care to patients Newborn to 18 years in accordance with individual needs based on competence, professional expertise, knowledge and evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit during an assigned shift.
  • Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift.
  • Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level.
  • Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.
  • Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care.
  • Provides nursing care to patients on an as needed basis.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing (e.g. ADN) required and actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or other-related field.
  • LA City Fire Card required within 90 days of hire.
