Job Summary

The Veterinary Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the highest quality care for pets at Banfield Pet Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing exceptional patient care, educate clients on pet health, and maintain a safe and efficient hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing quality patient care
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure seamless patient flow
  • Provide exceptional customer service and educate clients on pet health and hospital services
  • Maintain a safe and clean hospital environment, adhering to standard protocols and NAVTA guidelines
  • Assist with surgery and other procedures as needed
  • Mentor and support other paraprofessionals in the hospital
Requirements
  • Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year of related experience, with customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to work weekends and evenings
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to work effectively in a team
