Job Title: Food and Beverage Concessions Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Concessions Supervisor to direct and coordinate the daily operations of the concession stands and bars at the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance, care, and use of food, supplies, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
  • Perform regular inspections of the concessions stands, bars, and buffet for sanitation, order, upkeep, and supply control and safety procedures.
  • Ensure that all concessions staff follows established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies at all times.
  • Assist the Director of Food Services and Housekeeping in the management of the budget for the concessions stands and recommending efficiencies and more effective methods of operating the stands.
  • Order food, alcoholic beverages, and drinks, supplies, and equipment for the concessions stands, bars, and buffet, and maintain adequate inventory levels to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
  • May assist in the supervision of food services for specialty theme events.
  • Communicate with direct reports to adequately plan for services and activities.
  • Promote safe work practices.
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, coaching, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Perform other job duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; some college classes in business or equivalent field preferred.
  • Minimum five years of high-volume food service experience (fast food business, restaurant, banquet, special events) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a current Louisiana Responsible Alcohol Server certification.
  • Must be able to obtain a Louisiana State Racing Commission license.
  • Must be willing to submit a drug screening and background check.
