Position Overview: The Credit and Collections Manager will spearhead our Credit and Collections division, enhancing strategies to reduce financial risks and improve cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee credit screening and collections for our portfolio of multifamily apartment communities.
  • Establish and manage objectives for the collections team to align with company cash flow targets.
  • Develop and implement processes to identify, address, and mitigate customer account delinquencies.
  • Create procedures to reduce outstanding balances from current residents, including communication strategies and legal actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders from Revenue, Finance, Legal, and other departments to enhance collection strategies.
  • Report on collection metrics, portfolio risks, and provide recommendations for improvement to senior management.
  • Utilize and enhance collection software, working with internal IT to optimize efforts.
  • Establish performance metrics for evaluating and developing collections staff.
  • Interface with external collection agencies to streamline processes and maximize recovery.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in credit and collections, preferably in the multifamily apartment sector.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large data sets from various sources.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate across the organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit and collections processes, methods, and strategies.
  • Proficiency in credit software systems and the ability to assess and integrate new technologies.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software preferred.
