Credit and Collections Manager

Position Overview: The Credit and Collections Manager will spearhead our Credit and Collections division, enhancing strategies to reduce financial risks and improve cash flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee credit screening and collections for our portfolio of multifamily apartment communities.
- Establish and manage objectives for the collections team to align with company cash flow targets.
- Develop and implement processes to identify, address, and mitigate customer account delinquencies.
- Create procedures to reduce outstanding balances from current residents, including communication strategies and legal actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders from Revenue, Finance, Legal, and other departments to enhance collection strategies.
- Report on collection metrics, portfolio risks, and provide recommendations for improvement to senior management.
- Utilize and enhance collection software, working with internal IT to optimize efforts.
- Establish performance metrics for evaluating and developing collections staff.
- Interface with external collection agencies to streamline processes and maximize recovery.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in credit and collections, preferably in the multifamily apartment sector.
- 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large data sets from various sources.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate across the organization.
- In-depth knowledge of credit and collections processes, methods, and strategies.
- Proficiency in credit software systems and the ability to assess and integrate new technologies.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software preferred.
