Job Summary

Lincoln Electric is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Control Systems Engineer Intern to join our team. As a Control Systems Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for observing and assisting with the writing and debugging of safe control programs, working collaboratively with robotic programmers and HMI programmers to ensure full functionality of the system, and assisting with control programming of equipment and tooling.

Responsibilities
  • Observe and assist with the writing and debugging of safe control programs that meet end-user requirements and company expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with robotic programmers and HMI programmers to ensure full functionality of the system.
  • Assist with control programming of equipment and tooling to ensure it is complete, safe, and functional.
  • Observe internal runoffs, safety inspections, and other quality control procedures.
  • Debug electrical and mechanical systems as needed for operation of all machines.
  • Communicate effectively with robotic programmers regarding necessary requirements to ensure a project runs smoothly.
Requirements
  • Candidates must be in their junior or senior year of a 4-year undergraduate program in a relevant field, such as industrial engineering.
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical prints.
  • Ability to use common hand tools.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Safety (OSHA, SDS) and ANSI (RIA) standards.
Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S)

Understand the Company's EH&S policy and how it relates to this job. Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as company rules and policies that pertain to this job. Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EH&S procedures. Immediately notify the supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly or if there are any questions regarding EH&S procedures. Attend required EH&S training.

Be able to climb ladders; lift hand tools approx. 1-15 lbs. in weight to complete machine assembly, parts up to 50 lbs. Repetition with activity. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate; temperature in the assembly area may fluctuate with the seasons, as the production area is not air-conditioned.
