Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to enhance our operations at the Davenport Works, recognized as the largest aluminum rolling mill in the U.S. In this pivotal role within our Plate Finishing Department, you will deliver essential electrical engineering expertise that supports our production, maintenance, and engineering teams. Your contributions will be crucial in optimizing the efficiency, output, and quality of our manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless integration of electrical systems with production operations while maintaining and upgrading our equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all stages of assigned electrical engineering projects, from initial concept through to completion, which includes scope development, specification writing, bid solicitation, design, manufacturing, equipment commissioning, and project closure.
  • Collaborate and lead problem-solving initiatives with multidisciplinary teams, including technical staff, maintenance, and production personnel.
  • Employ PI Vision and Data Link to assess process challenges and assist in resolving operational issues.
  • Design and implement electrical control solutions aimed at process enhancements and improving equipment reliability.
  • Support production and maintenance teams in addressing equipment and process challenges.
  • Redesign and upgrade PLC/HMI controls along with existing processes.
  • Install and troubleshoot camera systems on industrial machinery.
  • Mentor team members to elevate their understanding of equipment and processes as necessary.
  • Provide after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (must be completed at the time of employment).
  • At least 1 internship, co-op, or relevant work experience in electrical engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).
  • This position requires U.S. person status as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives and motors, measuring devices, and Ethernet cameras.
  • Proficiency with Rockwell programming software (e.g., RSLogix, Factory View).
  • 3+ years of experience leading electrical projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Project programs.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 1+ year of experience in aluminum rolling/casting outside of internship/co-op roles.
