Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Lead to join our team at 8th Avenue Food & Provisions. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for directing shift operations, ensuring team training, and maintaining established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • People Safety: Ensure a safe working environment by setting a positive example and holding team members accountable for safety protocols.
  • Team Culture: Foster a collaborative and positive team culture that works closely with cross-department partners.
  • Pre-Shift Planning: Plan, staff, and communicate daily tasks and initiatives to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Inventory Management: Perform daily shift audits of inventory movements, allergen controls, and GMP compliances.
  • Kit and Shipment Review: Review work orders to ensure FIFO procedures are followed.
  • Material Handling: Ensure the unloading of raw materials and kits from trucks into the plant locations and assign to the appropriate storage areas.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Ensure DSI barcode transactions are completed according to policies and procedures.
  • PIT Inspections: Ensure daily powered industrial truck inspections are completed and submit issues to the warehouse administrator.
  • Maintenance Requests: Work with the company maintenance work order system to input facility repair requests.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in warehousing, distribution, and/or logistics.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Food Manufacturing Experience: Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • PIT Experience: Previous experience with powered industrial trucks.
  • Warehouse Management Systems: Previous experience with warehouse management systems (scanners, etc.).
  • ERP System Experience: Previous experience with ERP systems (JDE strongly preferred).
  • Leadership Experience: 1+ year of experience in a leadership level position.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift to 55 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Reaching: Must be able to reach, grasp, and make fast, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wrists throughout the shift.
  • Work Environment: Must be able to perform work at or above shoulder height for short periods of time throughout the shift.
  • Pushing and Pulling: Must be able to push, pull, bend, stretch, twist, and/or reach throughout the shift.
  • Hearing: Must be able to distinguish between sounds, such as forklift horns, fire alarms, machine signals, etc.
  • Temperature: Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environments.
  • Dust: Must be comfortable working in dusty environments.
  • Standing and Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for the entirety of the shift (8 hours).
  • Sitting: Must be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods of time.
  • Climbing: Must be comfortable climbing up and down stairs/ladders throughout the shift.
