Job Summary:

Adventist Health is seeking a skilled Clinical Nutritionist to provide comprehensive nutritional care to patients and residents identified with special needs and/or those who meet nutritional risk criteria.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in food and nutrition or equivalent, with a strong background in patient assessment and reassessment, patient and family education, interdisciplinary communication, nutritional plan of care development, and documentation of all interventions in accordance with policy and acceptable practice standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive initial nutritional assessments and ongoing reassessments of patients' nutritional conditions and stability.
  • Develop and implement effective nutritional plans of care, including meal patterns, monitoring nutritional intake, and initiating appropriate interventions.
  • Provide nutritional education to patients, families, and healthcare team members, including dietetic interns, patients, family members, and community.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
  • Supervise and orient new professional, registered, and assistive and ancillary personnel on job duties, assignments, and clinical activities of the unit.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in food and nutrition or equivalent: Required
  • Master's Degree: Preferred
  • Experience as a Clinical Dietitian: Preferred
  • Dietetic internship or its equivalent: Preferred
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) within 6 months of completion of residency program: Required
