General Purpose of the Role:

Provides comprehensive support to users of the SAP application system and related software tools, encompassing installation, configuration, enhancements, process optimization, troubleshooting, training, and report generation. This position is focused on a specific functional area within the organization, particularly in Sales and Distribution. The responsibilities extend across all operations within the North American sector of Rust-Oleum Corporation, ensuring effective utilization of application systems.

Key Responsibilities: (Note: Additional duties may be assigned.)
  • Leads the implementation of new SAP modules and updates to the SAP application software, along with third-party software tools.
  • Educates and supports users in navigating SAP business application software. Develops training materials, organizes schedules, and conducts training sessions as necessary. The audience may include IT personnel or end-users. Conducts cost-benefit analyses to justify system development and enhancements.
  • Serves as a liaison between software vendors and users, actively participating in software and functional user groups.
  • Conducts systems analysis, design, configuration, and programming tasks related to enhancements, interfaces, data migration, and specialized reporting needs.
  • Advises users on various alternatives to fulfill specified requirements, including SAP baseline functionality, specialized configurations, data extraction for PC-based analysis, custom report writing, and adjustments to business processes.
  • Assists users in designing and documenting business processes and procedures, developing training materials, and delivering training.
  • Performs thorough testing of all new and modified system functions and reports, ensuring quality assurance of procedural documentation and training materials.
  • Acts as a project or group leader for tasks within a designated functional area, such as sales & distribution, finance & accounting, or manufacturing.
  • Facilitates user group forums to manage issues, handle enhancement requests, and promote the exchange of information and ideas among users in a specific business operation area.
Additional Functions: (Other Less Critical Job Activities)
  • Manages project tasks and administration, maintaining work plans, tracking efforts, and progress against plans for small to medium-scale projects, providing appropriate status updates.
  • Coordinates and directs project team activities to achieve project goals, involving both IT staff and end-users.
  • Supervises contract consultants, programmers, and part-time clerical support as necessary.
  • Provides secondary support for technical hardware and communication platforms that support application systems, including logins, printing, and security, acting as a liaison between end-users and the IT technical team.

Formal Education Required:
  • A college or university degree is preferred.
  • SAP Certification in a related field or equivalent training.
Practical Work Experience Required:
  • 3-5+ years of leadership experience in roles such as manager, supervisor, or group lead.
  • 5+ years of experience in Customer Service and/or Distribution.
  • 4+ years of SAP S/4HANA implementation experience is preferred.
  • 3+ years as an SAP Super User in a related field, demonstrating strong customer service skills and a high degree of flexibility in interactions with customers.
  • 2 years of project management experience.
  • Ability to recognize, learn, and adapt to differences in business and end-user requirements.
  • Ability to enhance technical knowledge and interpersonal skills.

The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $99,000 and $124,000. This range is an estimate based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
