We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Associate to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Patient Care Associate, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide basic nursing care, such as taking vital signs and administering medications.
- Participate in the implementation of the patient's plan of care, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Communicate and document patient status, including any changes or concerns.
- Assist with maintaining a safe and clean environment, including restocking supplies and equipment.
- Transport patients to various departments, as directed.
- Perform post-mortem care and transport the body to the morgue, as needed.
- Utilize proper isolation techniques and established safety, waste disposal, and infection control procedures at all times.
- Participate in continuing education programs, surveys, and staff meetings, as directed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Successful completion of a NYS Certified Nursing Attendant program, required.
- Must pass Long Island Jewish Medical Center Patient Care Associate's competency test prior to entering training program.
- Must pass Long Island Jewish Medical Center training program within the normal probationary period.
- Heart Saver Certification, preferred.
- Demonstrated competency in at least one of the following: EKG testing or venipuncture procedure, preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to operate all medical equipment necessary to perform job duties.
- Ability to lift, turn, position, move, and restrain patients as required.
Additional Information:
The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity).
