Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient rooming and complete the intake process in accordance with established protocols.
- Collect preliminary patient history and accurately input data into the medical record system for physician review.
- Complete training to document services, orders, and medications in real-time during patient interactions.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of medical supplies and vaccines for the practice.
- Serve as a mentor and preceptor for new clinicians.
- Perform advanced clinical skills, including IV access and urinary catheterization.
- Prepare for clinical visits by reviewing patient records and ensuring appropriate scheduling.
- Participate in specialty clinic training and be adaptable to various roles within the practice.
- Focus on clinical intake and seek opportunities to develop and mentor fellow staff.
- Collaborate with medical center departments as necessary.
- Administer medications, including oral, IM injections, and vaccinations.
- Perform venipuncture and other ambulatory procedures within your scope of practice.
- Conduct laboratory duties, including point-of-care testing and quality control measures.
- Manage electronic medical record (EMR) requirements, including phone intake and prescription preparation.
- Ensure a safe and efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Document services rendered in the medical record accurately.
- Organize and prioritize patient care activities based on the needs of patients and the healthcare team.
- Implement age-appropriate interventions as directed by the physician.
- Foster a safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Demonstrate teamwork in delivering patient care and maintaining a safe clinical environment.
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous clinical experience is preferred but not required.
- Current Virginia RN Licensure.
- BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.
Work in a busy clinical setting, requiring the ability to assist patients and stand for extended periods. Physical demands include lifting, pushing, pulling, and walking, with potential exposure to body fluids and chemicals.
