Assistant Controller Job Description

NWI Aerostructures is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in providing financial support and oversight to ensure proper accounting, controls, and solid decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct month-end plant close process and prepare financial reports and analysis
  • Manage weekly cash flow activities and reporting
  • Support budgeting and forecasting for the plant
  • Ensure customer invoices are processed accurately and timely
  • Process incoming customer payments
  • Prepare and perform detailed analysis of revenue streams and financial forecasts
  • Review AR aging to ensure customer compliance
  • Assist with timely resolution of all customer invoice discrepancies
  • Regularly research, analyze, and reconcile data for accuracy and trends
  • Assist with product margin analysis by customer
  • Monitor and track performance against targets for direct labor and direct material
  • Manage the standard cost system including setting annual standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and provide insights
  • Work with Operations to identify and implement cost savings initiatives
  • Prepares account reconciliations and variance analyses on a timely basis
  • Support inventory management and control
  • Provide analysis on new business and capital investment
  • Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance of internal controls and lead/support internal/external audits
  • Provide backup support for Finance team members
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, CPA/MBA is a plus
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing accounting position or in Public Accounting conducting audits of manufacturing clients
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with US GAAP, accounting knowledge specific to manufacturing
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets and budget analyst skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
  • Must work well in a team-based environment
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
