Job Summary

CMT Services Inc is seeking a highly skilled Rental Assistance Application Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in determining program eligibility, reviewing and validating application supporting documentation, and working directly with tenants and landlords to provide Emergency Rental Assistance to individuals affected by the pandemic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze Web-based Emergency Rental Assistance applications to determine eligibility and make appropriate assistance recommendations.
  • Examine and evaluate all documents to ensure authenticity and accuracy.
  • Calculate income, deductions, exemptions, and rental assistance amounts.
  • Communicate with applicants to obtain outstanding documentation and resolve any issues.
  • Ensure applicant files are complete and concise, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection protocols.
  • Advise tenants and landlords on program regulations, administrative policies, and procedures as needed.
  • Prepare and submit reports to detail application assignment status and reasons for processing delays.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss best practices and recommendations for improving workflow.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience working with State and/or Federally funded programs, determining eligibility and processing applications.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across organizations, demonstrating strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
  • Working internet connection and proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent writing, grammar, and spelling ability, with strong presentation and written/oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-conscious, results-driven environment, with strong attention to detail and ability to generate creative ideas.
  • Self-motivated, multitasking individual who can work well under pressure and follow through on tasks.
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in an office environment, with regular sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Must be able to concentrate and pay attention for long periods, with occasional collaboration with colleagues.
Working Hours
  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (hours may vary).
