Key Responsibilities
The role involves verifying, dispensing, and overseeing medication therapy, as well as providing drug-related information both on-site and remotely for various affiliated healthcare facilities. Additional responsibilities include supervising support staff, monitoring adverse events, engaging in performance improvement initiatives related to medication use, and serving as a resource for pharmacy policies, procedures, and compliance with regulations.
Remote pharmacists may also be designated as the Pharmacist in Charge for out-of-state licenses and are required to maintain licensure in multiple states in accordance with the regulations of the respective pharmacy boards.
Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor of Science (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited School or College of Pharmacy.
Licensure: A valid pharmacist license from the state of Illinois is required, with a New Mexico license to be obtained within a specified timeframe post-hire.
Work Schedule
This position operates on a 7 on/7 off overnight shift pattern.
Experience
Prior experience in a health-system pharmacy setting is preferred but not mandatory.
