Maintenance Technician 2nd

Smithfield Foods is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician 2nd to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure optimal production levels.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, including hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve equipment-related issues and minimize downtime.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety protocols.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational diploma or technical degree preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field; 4 years of experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with all levels of personnel.
- Valid forklift certification and ability to operate powered industrial trucks (PITs).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to read and execute work orders.
The Maintenance Technician 2nd will work in a fast-paced production environment with exposure to various chemicals, loud noises, and physical demands. Regularly lift and move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds using the buddy system or lifting devices.
